As you will all know by now, we are big foodies and enjoy eating out as a family as often as we can. We do have a few favourite local spots but we’re also keen to try new food and restaurants. So we were very excited to be able to celebrate World Vegan Month with tastecard and explore the deals they have on offer. As a family, we might not be vegan but we do often enjoy vegan food. Read on to see where we decided to eat and what we thought to our vegan food…

What is tastecard? Well, tastecard is a restaurant discount card that also offers discounts on days out, cinema trips and even shopping discounts. On average, members save around £19 per meal, meaning they could save themselves £226.56 a year if they eat out just once a month.

It’s also your secret weapon for cheap days out with the family, with up to 50% off attractions. tastecard can also be your saviour when you don’t feel like cooking, delivering plenty of discounts on pizza delivery and takeaways…”

World Vegan Month

November is World Vegan Month, a celebration of plant based food, so what better time to check out tastecard’s vegan offerings. When I browsed the tastecard app I discovered a great selection of deals at vegan eateries across the country. You’ll find local restaurants and delis as well as larger nationwide chains serving delicious vegan meals. I was pleasantly surprised at just how many vegan restaurants were available.

A visit to Zizzi

I discovered that tastecard was offering 2 for 1 on food at Zizzi so we decided to go for this as they have good vegan options on their menu. As well as Zizzi offers, we also looked at Pizza Hut, Prezzo, ASK Italian, Bella Italia and Cafe Rouge, all of which are offering the same 2 for 1 deal.

For starter we had pasta crisps, little soul breads, brushcetta and garlic bread, all of which are 100% vegan and delicious.

Vegan mains at Zizzi include vegan margherita pizza, vegan aubergine & pesto pizza, lentil ragu, vegan rainbow lasagne and all-the-greens risotto, as well as delicious sides such as rainbow veg, chips and sweet potato fries.

For dessert I just had to try the Zillionaire’s fudge cake, which is the only vegan dessert option but it is perfection so really there’s no need for other options if you ask me! How good does this look?

We thoroughly enjoyed our family meal at Zizzi and were pleasantly surprised at the vegan options. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and would go back again.  Our experience with tastecard has been really smooth, the app takes the stress out of searching the web for discounts. It really couldn’t be easier and I would highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys eating out regularly, whether you are vegan or not.

Sign up to tastecard now and get a 30 day free trial. After your trial period you can pay monthly at £5.99, which can be cancelled at any time. Or you can choose to pay £29.99 for a whole year of tastecard offers.
