If you haven’t met Katrina of Lindale Studios, prepare for some major inspiration. She’s an incredible artist and offers custom, hand-painted backdrops and styling mats (I own two- they’re stunning!), and things rose to the next level after she and her family moved to Spain last year. Her styling mats are exquisite and her limited edition releases sell out every time she launches a new collection, and once you scroll through her brand shoot, I think you’ll see why.
Katrina pulls her inspiration from the places they visit as a family, both close to their home in southern Spain as well as from the numerous locations they’ve traveled throughout Europe, and I was so excited to incorporate that into her shoot by pulling in details of her surroundings! Seeing how big of a role her family plays in how she’s formed her business and what inspires her, I knew we needed to plan for them to be part of the shoot in some way.
The majority of the shoot took place in Katrina’s studio, a pool house that sits behind their home in El Puerto. We also ventured out to their favorite local beach, and then that evening, we headed over to Cádiz to shoot a few family outing photos!
I left this shooting absolutely floating. Katrina’s work is gorgeous and I could have shot her mats and backdrops for days, but it wasn’t that- it was seeing the direct line between the sources of her inspiration (iPhone snaps of her kids in remote European villages, sea shells she’s collected from the beach, flowers growing along a path to the ocean) and the final product she produces as a result.
The entire shoot was a sweet reminder to find + keep that sense of wonder that pushes so many of us creatives to start a business in the first place.
Katrina, I can’t thank you enough for bringing me out to shoot for you. It’s been incredible to watch your brand grow, and an even bigger joy to become your friend. You’re a DREAM client in every sense of the word, and I cannot WAIT for our next shoot!
